Info about Anna Leong
It's the year 2003 and early fall in Umeå, located in the north of Sweden. The students are returning and the city is slowly waking up from it's summersleep. The pubs and clubs that's been closed for the summer are opening again and welcome everyone. But to be honest, nothing is really happening. Four young men who did survive the summer in Umeå know that something has to be done...
Anna Leong is formed at a friends rehearsal located in one of the old mental-hospital buildings at Umedalen, Umeå. Later fall they get an own rehearsal place at Carlshem, Umeå. A demo is recorded there in the wintercold and in the springtime they play all the gigs they are offered, everything from hardrock-festivals to cosy church gigs.
In june 2004 the band enters the Second Home studio in Umeå together with Daniel Berglund from Isolation Years to record another demo. The demo is beeing sent to various record companies and concert arrangers. The local press likes it and announces "the first song of the demo, called Fever, is one of the best songs so far this year..."
Another year has soon gone by and in September 2005 the band starts to record songs for an album, which they plan to release by themselves if noone else will. In between recording sessions they do one show at Nalen in Stockholm and are beeing broadcasted twice on the nationwide radio show "P3 Demo".
Now the Umeå-based record label Chalksounds starts to show interest in the band. Anna Leong sign a record deal with Chalksounds and there we are now...
Anna Leong's debut 7" single "Fever" is being released March 24 on Chalksounds.
